Pros

A lot to learn about data center management. Good co-workers as long as they are on the same level.

Cons

Managers haven't figured out how to delegate and step back and let you do the job you were hired to do. There is constant micro-managing. They assign tasks and then you research and document only to find out that they did it anyway and wasted your time. There is ALWAYS a crisis and the entire office turns into panic-mode. Management sends out mixed signals.... They encourage "TEAM" but there is no such thing. The mood of the office depends on the manager's mood. It's only okay to joke if he/she is in a good mood. The managers badger the Assistants and belittle everyone. They beat you down and don't "get" how to build up morale. It seems like nothing is ever good enough. One minute, there is too much talking and the next minute it's too quiet

Great for anyone but techs

Pros

Local teams, at least at this location, are the only reason people stick around.

Cons

- On the lower end of the pay scale (Even though they preach competitive salaries) - Company is run as a realtor vs tech company - Techs/Engineers, the ones keeping the customers multi-million dollar equipment running, are treated unfairly in regards to payment and benefits. - Leadership does not know how to staff in-house IT - No such thing as work-life balance. (Again this is preached in meetings but meant for everyone except techs) - Most techs are contracted and have no chance of being hired directly. (Looks better on stock portfolio) -Most experienced techs are leaving mostly due to pay and other items listed above...

HR doesn’t do their homework

Pros

The casual work environment is comfortable.

Cons

HR doesn’t do their homework: on the word of a manager, HR attacks. Totally classless. If a new manager doesn’t want to work with a pre existing employee, offer a severance package, don’t make up problems that don’t exist. Benefits are marginal, there is a $3,000 deductible on health insurance. Management looks for scapegoats on which to lay all of their mistakes on. Management doesn’t own mistakes. Top down management style that costs customers money. Management would rather over charge a customer than self correct.
