Pros

The Bistro is nice but that's it

Cons

Everything. Management will lie to fire you. Leadership does not support their people it's all about throwing someone under the bus even if you aren't honest. They will blatantly treat you unfairly and disrespectfully in front of an entire department with no shame or hesitation. If you want to be cussed and belittled and almost to the point of harassment then this company is for you. There is absolutely no accountability for leadership and it's all politics in the buddy system as most of them are not even qualified to work in the industry. Most of the people there have only worked at Dillard's their entire lifetime and have built a system of untouchable veterans that are allowed to break all policies without anyone blinking an eye. If someone knew were to follow their teams behaviors they would be immediately fired because policies are not policies unless they are needed to reprimand someone. They choose when these things apply and they only apply if you have rubbed one of the long-term management Personnel the wrong way. Being a victim of slander, discrimination, verbal abuse, public humiliation, bullying, medical discrimination and retaliation is never a good thing. When you spend years doing that and are fired for things that your other teammates are not fired for and are not against policy and we're not a problem previously for you is embarrassing. But the gossip and intentional harassment should be illegal. Don't count on any support from management. Don't count on fairness. Only work here if you have to have a job and then leave as soon as possible before it ruins you and you don't even want to work in the field anymore. That's the nicest thing I can say.

Pros

The good pay and discounts.

Cons

I would be told that I was not a good sales person because I could not get people to open a credit card app. I told the truth about the credit apps though. I don’t want to lie to people. Another thing is the point system for calling in. I had a newborn and he was sick with multiple things and it started counting against me when I had to take him to the hospital. They do not care about people that work for them. They talk about their people and customers behind your back. All they care for are credit apps and taking your money.

Pros

There is not any pros.

Cons

Corporate does not care for their associates at all. I've witnessed many events where corporate pretty much makes the associates struggle to survive and gives no respect to any employees under them. Also they don't care for any customers either, witnessed Jerry get a suggestion from a customer and immediately after the customer left he talked horrible about the customer, saying they don't know anything about what is a good product and such. Even while other customers and associates were around him.
