Pros

Nice people, great mangers, ok pay

Cons

They need to change what they expect from their employees. On line buying has kept customers from the stores. They don't want to fight the crowds or come to the malls anymore. They fire good people because of not making what they feel the employee should be selling!!!!!! Come out on the floor once in a while....

Pros

Great Perks for sales contest. Great discount, great co-workers attitudes, great atmosphere created by co-workers and all around work environment.

Cons

Did not follow up with initial hiring agreement promise if I fulfilled my obligation and what would be my return on my skill and talent used to produce. Raise never received, but a walk out the door. Without any offered explanation as if they had reason when they did not. Very disappointing, for such hard work and many years of talent. Taken advantage of to only fulfill their needs. Sad but oh so painfully true... Shame on you Dillards Corporation!!!!!

Pros

Discount is a great pro, especially on double discount days. Your co-workers are great, with any place there is drama so you just have to weed out the bad ones. Starting pay is pretty good compared to most retailers.

Cons

Sale Quota's are like EVERYTHING at Dillard's, Managers are always on your case about your quota whether or not you are doing good or bad. Some quota's are almost impossible to reach if its a slow day or if you have a customer that is willing to buy everything you have. Higher Management offers false promises. One day they tell you , you'll be moved to this and the next day "your quota card isn't exactly where it should be at". Some parts of management doesn't care whether you like your position or not if you want to be moved up and the position isn't something you want you are liked forced to take it. If not, you will never be moved up for a long time. If Dillard's is not your priority don't even bother working here, if you have kids or other obligations that are more of a priority then forget about it! They work you long hours , that are like crazy unrealistic. Sometimes management tries to make you take a 30 minute break instead of an hour due to how hectic it is on the sales floor, even though you are there for like 10 hours. When there is a corporate visit, everyone acts fake and tries to be friendly. There is no care for employees once so ever unless you are a favorite. TO MUCH FAVORITISM. If your quota card is falling behind drastically, they will pull you in the office and tell you that you have 30 days to make some improvement if not you are gone!
