Pros

Employee's get first dibs on Sale and Clearance merchandise and the employee discount on top of sale and clearance prices is amazing! The extra discount days where your employee discount can be as much as 50% is fantastic. Part Time employees usually (not always) have the flexibility to choose their own hours.

Cons

Everyone I have ever spoke to about working at Dillard's has the same complaint. Their sales quotas are ridiculously high and unattainable. If you don't make your sales quotas you can count on being terminated in about 9 months after you start working there, if your lucky a year.

Pros

I think seeing the product before it hits the stores was the only cool thing about the job.

Cons

The Fort Worth buying office for Dillard's treats their employees terribly! Especially the online division! No sick time, no family time, you have set hours of 8:30-6, but are frowned upon if you don't come in early and stay late. They basically want you to live there and have no life. You would buy 6 months in advance for online, yet have to work black friday, christmas, and new years, with absolutely nothing to do. Your "buyers & managers" don't teach you anything to advance and get promoted. The employee turnover was rediculous. They were constantly rearranging departments. Always changing database and ordering software. Job roles were constantly changing. You basically had no idea what was going on or what to do. Complete and utter chaos!

Pros

Place is only worth it if you work part-time. Full - timers be warned!

Cons

No support from store manager, area mangers and floor managers. You work your butt off for nothing. And if you are new you might as well look for better work cause if the sales quota don't mess wity then sales sharks certainly will.
