Pros
I worked here at Din Tai Fung when it first opened in Costa Mesa. I was provided training, but it wasn't very helpful until you start to work here to see how things worked. The Ipads were helpful in the beginning until the system didn't work very efficiently and people started to complain and lines got long. The only good thing was the split tips but that was with BOH and FOH.
Cons
The owner would run this place and yell at us and tell us what he wants us to do. Everyone is constantly micromanaging you and watching your every move. You can' even take a break to use the restroom a times or drink water. The breaks are never consistent and we don't get a 30 minute lunch/break. You only get a 10 minute break and you have no choice which doesn't give you time to eat the food there. The only good part about working here was getting the food 50% off even then it's still marked up high. Discounts were good until you get tired of the same food. Also, super busy especially weekend so prepare to deal with lines, upset guest and angry Asians. Don't work here and find a place that will treat you better and with more respect. If they actually treated us better and not fire so many staff members there would be more people that would stay here to grow with this company. However, this place only cares about themselves and not their employees. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
