Pros

-You'll enjoy working with your coworkers -Pay is on the higher scale compared to surrounding restaurants in the area -Will hire anyone

Cons

-Management needs work. You'll see them on their phones majority of a shift, and rather than helping, a lot of delegating to the overworked short staff. -Accountant steals from your paycheck ($3 and some change). I trust you to do your numbers right. -Will hire anyone, even if incompetent

Dine with them, don't work for them

Pros

They are always busy, so this is good money, but from talking to my fellow co-worker; it is hard getting out of this job though, cause of the money you make. Sorry for all the negative comments about the management team, there is one manager, he is GREAT, and his name is Kenny. I think he doesn't get enough credit for what he does in Din Tai Fung. He is very work oriented, he is always smiling, very respectful to our team, very positive man, and he is always in a good mood, bringing a great vibe at work. I love Kenny!!! He is the greatest!!! Very high standard on customer services, which is great, this is why I titled, dine with them, don't work for them.

Cons

Management SUCKS!!!!!! If you're looking for a work-oriented management team, don't look here. Management don't do ANYTHING, they walk around, look like they're doing something, and stand around more and talk more. If only they work as much as they stand around and talk, it would be great. Also, managemenet team play favorites. If they like you, you will work well in this company, if they don't, well you can feel it. Honestly, I understand they have their favorites sometimes, which is understandable, but play by the policies and rules is very crucial in running an international company like Din Tai Fung. So I was hired within a week of interviewing, the day before orientation, I messaged the person that has been contacting me to confirm my orientation date and time. Surely, he forgot about me and asked me to reschedule. I was asked to wear black slacks, black shirt and non-slip black dress shoes. Orientation took about 30-40 mins, I was waiting for the most part. paperwork took about 5-10 mins, you just sign, sign, and sign, the lady don't even borther to explain what you're signing. Then she gave me a package and ask me to read after I get home or when I have time. Then they forgot about me more, I was waiting for instruction for about 30 mins, when they finally remember me, they sat me infront of a computer and watched 2 youtube videos, which were about the history of Din Tai Fung. After that, they expected you to work for a few hours (Which was never mention when they set up orientation with me), I do work another job the same day. I made sure with the person who sets up the orientation with me that I will be able to leave within 1-2 horus. I ended up working for about 3-4 hours, and I had to notify them about my other job, you can tell they were a bit annoyed, but let me leave anyways. They told me they are very strict with their policies, and dress code. one of their policy is your undershirt under your black shirt HAS TO BE BLACK. The second day I went into work, one of the guy wore a white shirt underneath the black shirt, another day, a guy didn't even have his name tag on. So strict. Well, I could go on forever, but you get the idea.
