Pros

Remote, high paying for new hires with few years of experience.

Cons

An agency that is hiring aggressively but hasn't grown in years is one to stay away from- it means they interview poorly, care nothing for their employees, and fire people at the drop of a hat. Opinions and innovations are not welcome here- you will be fired for speaking your mind and trying to improve things. The CEO micromanages everything, has zero empathy, and controls employees with fear. He's only interested in fulfilling his own ego, and has no idea how to run an agency. There are good people here, but none of them will last. Good digital marketers are in demand. Don't compromise yourself and your career by taking a job with Directive.

It's not easy to read this review, but thank you for your feedback and I'd like to add some context: 1. We try to pay very well and have a great team of amazing people who love to work here. 2. We are growing very rapidly. We just had our best month in the history of the company this December and January is already on pace to exceed it. 3. We have an amazing management team here who proudly uses their voice to make my life and the lives around me better everyday. 4. We take our culture and values exceptionally seriously. The amazing men and women that choose Directive every day give me comfort and joy that we are going in the right direction and building something special. I wish you nothing but the best and I hope that you find what you are looking for in your next endeavor. - Garrett

Pros

-Autonomy to execute your role with support for constructive feedback -Ownership/No micro-management -Benefits -Fun and intelligent team -Executive team leads with strategy, intelligence, confidence and an open mind -Growth opportunities -Encouragement

Cons

*No, I was in no way asked to leave a review. I can't think of any cons honestly. In a quick-growth organization, there are always changes and you need to be able to pivot quickly and enjoy the hustle of the agency pace.

Pros

I am just happy that I had an amazing Director. Although over worked and seemed tired all the time, he was understanding and a good guy.

Cons

So the best way to describe Directive is Lord of the Flies. It is inexperienced kids trying to run a business. There are changes to the rules about every other week. It is inconsistent and the changes don’t last long. Examples: each department was suppose to decide on an idea every week, scrapped after a few weeks, post client leaving meeting, scrapped, time tracking for clients, no one kept up with it and Directors didn’t care, scrapped, skill pyramid for individual improvements, no one has time for it scrapped... it is getting redundant but I can keep going. Which takes me to my next point, everyone is over worked. Nothing innovative or “growing” happens because everyone is drowning with client work. This all starts from the top. If the CEO was able to work you 24/7, he would. You can see the stress trickledown to lower levels of management. Regards to the massive workloads, this is also a race to see how long the client takes to realize that Directive doesn’t provide anything special and they could take the process in house for fraction of the cost. Takes on average about a year for both the client and the employee to realize that Directive isn’t worth it. Also the CEO set a “soft cap” at 3 weeks for unlimited PTO which he made sure to emphasize that if you are at the start of your career you should stick to one week. It’s just another way to save money to not payout people for their PTO when they inevitably leave.
