Pros

-Work with smart people. -Ability to work remotely.

Cons

-They are using the "burn-out" business model. Work people until they drop and replace them with others. -Is work-life balance even a thing? -Continuously add tasks to employees even if they are already overworked. -Give mandatory "homework" that you don't have time to complete during work hours. -No paid time off (Read other reviews on this subject). They advertise "unlimited PTO" which isn't true.

Directive Response

Hi there! This is Garrett, the CEO here at Directive. I first wanted to say thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Feedback is a critical part in the process of improving and we welcome it. I hate that our culture communicated to you that we believe in burning people out. While we are not perfect, we are very conscience of each members capacity and want to ensure they can do the best possible work for their clients. I also fully hear your frustrations on additional tasks or "homework". Team member development is a big part of our culture and that can sometimes conflict with certain team members own professional objectives. I wanted to take a deep dive into your concerns regarding burnout and PTO though to make sure this was not a blindspot and if this was an area we could grow in. What I found shocked me and I definitely could have done a better job communicating it to you and the entire team. In 2019, the average team member took 13 days off and had 14 days of paid holiday. That is 27 total days off in 2019 (on average) across the entire team. Can we improve on our systems and approach to PTO so it becomes something that's even easier to take and better for all? Definitely, and I am committed to that in 2020. Thank you for your feedback! - Garrett

Pros

They take a unique approach to digital marketing that has been proven to provide results, it's always easier to sell a product/service when you believe in what you sell. Everyone in both the California and Texas offices are incredibly friendly and are always willing to lend a helping hand. The systems they use are top notch and easy to use. Both of the owners are amazing and always open to feedback. Great culture all around and one of the few jobs I've had where I can walk into the office with a smile on my face every time. Absolutely love it here.

Cons

There are no cons, working here has been a blessing.

Pros

Flexibility (Remote work) Growth Opportunities High Level Strategic Work Free coffee and food Great office environment Mentors and Leaders Who Care When I saw all the negative reviews, I felt obligated to write a truthful review. It made me really upset to see someone clearly just trying to hurt Garrett and the company, when he has done so much for everyone who works at the company. I’ve never had a boss or mentor who has trusted me and wanted to see me succeed like Garrett has. We in no way have a close personal relationship, as I’ve only been with the company for a short period of time, but he takes time out of his day to talk about life in and outside of work. For whoever is concerned regarding the culture that has been stated in previous reviews, I assure you that I’ve never felt more a part of a family then working at Directive.

Cons

Newer company, so there are growing pains Every once in a while it can sometimes feel like there is some miscommunication between departments, which can make for work being inefficient, but the directors do a good job of immediately addressing this so that we can continue to grow.
