Thank you so much for the feedback! I have not read the book and I am going to get it :) I completely agree that we have areas to improve and I look forward to getting better. I wish you nothing but the best in your next endeavor. For those reading, this review is totally fair. We have added over 100+ team members in 2021 and have made significant strides to improve our infrastructure since the initial growth wave to start the year. I truly apologize if this was not an ideal experience for you. We have fully invested this success back into better benefits, better onboarding + training, a living wage, middle management, client support infrastructure, and an amazing people ops team. These investments will take time, but I love the progress the management team is making. We are the market leader in SaaS marketing for a reason and have an amazing team here. I look forward to getting better for you and your coworkers.

Pros

Really smart coworkers, great benefits and pay, & a fast-paced environment. Standards for excellence are higher here than other agencies I've experienced which I personally found refreshing. Work-life balance is also a huge pro, particularly with 100% remote work. I've only had to work over 40 hours in a week once here in a few years. You don't need to work overtime to succeed at Directive, just have a positive attitude and be willing to learn and grow.

Cons

Typical agency churn, internal initiatives & goals seem to change regularly. It's an agency, so people are coming and going all the time which can get old. Every quarter usually has a new initiative launched that quickly gets forgotten about until a year later when it gets resurfaced in a new way.

Pros

The colleagues and team is amazing and I've learned more here than at any other job. The company truly embraces the work from home culture and manager to create a good environment where the team feels united. The middle manager are amazing and really care about the team.

Cons

- Workloads are very high and so are expectations. The CEO is trying to "never do bad work again" by addig more processes and administration to already unmanagable workloads. - Almost 10 people quit or were let go over the course of 6 months I worked there which also causes uncomfortable client relationship. - Many colleagues worked 50+ hour weeks on the regular to get their workloads completed. - Salaries are not very competitive.

Hey this is Garrett! I love your feedback and I wish I could have walked you through all the initiatives the team is working on to address these areas of opportunity As a note, we have tripled in six months do to the quality of the team's work and are scaling responsibly. Here are some of our actual policies I want to highlight for those reading: - You are required to take at least 2 weeks of vacation per year at Directive (not including holiday and our closure from Xmas to New Years.) I don't want "unlimited PTO" to be abused. - No one is allowed to work more then 50 hours a week. We track and will work diligently with you if you are struggling with volume of work. - Salaries are designed to be exceptionally competitive. I can't disagree with your perspective and I don't know who you are, but I hate hearing that you felt underpaid. You are the heart and soul of our business and deserve to be paid for that value. - Directive will always put the quality of our work over everything. You don't have to agree with the approach, but I hope you recognize that the talented team around you and the awesome middle managers are all done in this pursuit. In closing, I am rooting for you and wish you nothing but the best!
