Pros

Fantastic company perks - Vitality health insurance/ amazing pension/ internal activities most weeks Great brand to have on the CV Lovely people Above average salaries Vibrant atmosphere Fun environment

Cons

Things get caught up in a lot of red tape They restructure every few years - give a good redundancy package though Very american (this may be a pro or con dependent on the type of person you are) Upward movement can be limited dependent on your team

Pros

Discovery is a great company to work for. Its main office is located in the beautiful Chiswick Business park. They run lots of events for employees: Impact Day (one day per year you can work for a charity), Kids Day and other family events. There are many cases when women were able to negotiate flexible working hours. Obviously you will have lots of career opportunities within this large company.

Cons

Their organisational structure is at constant changes. You can easily find yourself at redundancy risk. You have to keep eye on what is going on and be ready to relocate to a different department. There are some crazy and uncontrolled top managers who behave arrogantly and are not going to see you as a human being but just as a machine to work. CEEMEA department is located in the Building 5 which is a very poor and sad looking office in comparison to the tremendous and beautiful Discovery's main office in Building 2.
