Pros

Pay is one of the highest in Illinois. Teaching staff is collegial and hard working. Community is supportive. Resources are abundant. Tuition support is provided for relevant degree programs.

Cons

Technology initiatives in the district are more driven by trends than purposeful. Top heavy administration at the district level is aimless. Generally arrogant attitude toward other districts.

Pros

Good co-workers Lots of resources Kids are pretty respectful

Cons

Upper-level administration is pushing "no zero" grading (with an arbitrary 50% for all assignments - even students that are caught cheating!) Admin also pushes standards-based grading with an unrealistic time frame, unclear directives, and mismatching goals (automatic 50% does not match with asking students to learn standards or move into AP classes)
