Pros

Interesting projects, good pay, projects have plenty of money, flexible work environment, great affordable cafeteria. You will never get fired unless you REALLY mess up somehow. The name of the company usually has a big effect on anyone in the industry. It's well respected.

Cons

Too many big egos to deal with, very secretive about everything (even when it's not necessary). The secrecy part can get in the way of completing your work, which can be frustrating. Bad communication was also somewhat common when I was there. This may have been because of the age of people I was working with, but I've worked at other places where communication between team members and other departments was much better and created better work.

Pros

The biggest "pro" I've found at Draper is that I have the opportunity to work with some of the smartest people in the world. The work being done here is extremely interesting. Additionally: good work-life balance, flexible schedule, parking, and a terrific retirement plan. Very generous with funding for education. A significant amount of interaction with top executives.

Cons

Now I know what it felt like to live in the Soviet Union in the 1970's. Job security, medical benefits, time off...and absolutely no chance of advancement ever. No matter how good or bad you do, the only thing that matters in terms of promotions are years a Draper (many people have 25-50). Most of the people at the top have worked here for most or all of their careers, which really limits the influx of new business practices and ideas.

Pros

Amazing experienced technical staff, Draper did the GNC for the moon landing and All the navy ICBMs. They know what they are doing with GNC and also have great experience in micro electronics (accelerometers). Major work in Defense and Aerospace, Special Ops, Healthcare, Great benefits: they put in $2 for every $1 you put in. "Family First" when it comes to work life balance. If you have a problem or need to rearrange schedule to accommodate family needs, they will work with you.

Cons

sometimes have difficulty knowing what others are working on. consistently get minor raises, but hard to get a big raise/promotion unless you join the management path.
