Workload Overload

Pros

Co-workers are family. PTO is above standard for this area.

Cons

Very little accountability - if issues are addressed, it's done as a group and not with the individual. Handful of employees are relied upon for high output while quite a few employees have very low output. Compensation for high output and low output employees are the same. Micro-Managed - Very little input or communication from Management until issue arises or deadline is near. Work Load - Company stance is to cut back staff and force remaining staff to work longer hours. 12 hr days are not uncommon and 16 are not unheard of. They have no problem with employees bring their children in so the employee may continue to work. Expectations of work loads are unreasonable. PTO - You have Paid Time Off but have a difficult time being able to actually take it. They strongly stress what an inopportune time it is take time off...everytime you take off. Job Expectations - Are poorly/loosely defined. They change regulary depending on which department/person is currently not meeting their responsibilities. The Contracts Department in general seems to be the dumping ground for work that is deemed beneath other departments. With the addtional work load comes no relief from prior duties. Company Policy - Is applied inconsistently depending on the department and manager. There is no formal complaint system for/to HR. Emails and phone calls go unanswered and issues go unaddressed. Issues of workplace harrassement/bullying are common.

Pros

Can be lots of fun - you get to do a little (or a lot) of everything, not just the typical stuff in your job title; engineering, quality, ops, manufacturing, program management. You do it all!

Cons

There is no accountability so a lot of people do nothing while only 3 or 4 people carry the burden for everyone in the group and then those are also the people who get the negative press when things go wrong.

Pros

People working on the floor are great; most of them but not all. Decent work. Decent pay. Decent benefits.

Cons

Where do I begin. I’ll keep it short and say be cautious; VERY cautious when applying for here. It doesn’t matter how stellar you are at your work position. One slip up…BOOM you are fired!! No warning, no discipline; you are gone!! Even if you have worked there for several years or even decades. And fluent in English will be a must eventually or it’ll cost you your job; like most recently w/ recent batches of firings. The whole environment changed when the new HR stepped in 2019. Or perhaps it’s at HQ that desired this mantra for this wretched corrupt heartless place. My advice; go elsewhere.
