Exposure/Learning: While at Ducommun, I was exposed to everything from the creation of part planning to the parts being assembled on the production floor.

Cons

Severely Understaffed: the engineering department was swamped with tasks due to lack of sufficient staff, many engineers coming in on the weekends and working over 10 hour days during the week. Terrible Management: I believe there is a new engineering manager now, but at the time, the Engineering manager was incompetent and hadn't a single clue what was happening in any of the production programs. (I can't speak for the new management) Too Many Meetings: There were so many unnecessary daily meetings, that the engineering staff hardly had time to accomplish any of their tasks, resulting in excessive (unpaid, if salary) overtime.

The IT group of people at Ducommun is great, very high-skilled and professional, always willing to collaborate for the benefit of the whole group.

Cons

The Ducommun IT group is very lean, which causes the group to work long hours to get the projects done.
