      Not a fit for me. Hierarchical, micromanagement, outdated model and manner of thinking.

      Pros

      Brand looks great on the resume, high recognizability. Learn nuances of an academic medical center (as opposed to community) and the unique culture associated w a top 25 US News & World Report Hospital. If you just need a job and a paycheck this is a great organization to "hide-out." Clinical research taking place is top-notch.

      Cons

      Very sterile work environment, no decision rights at any level other than senior management, executive leadership that's very arrogant and does not live the company values. Years of service determine position rather than talent and capabilities. The org gets low work place culture/satisfaction scores. The environment is tense and frigid. Marketing and communications dept led by very inexperienced senior leadership who redo/perform much of the frontline work. Sadly this neither a place I would choose to work nor seek medical care and that sincerely surprised me.

      Pay, benefits and that's about it.

      Cons

      It's who you know, not what you know. Experienced 3 restructuring episodes only to be given the axe in the third. Honesty with employees is questionable. Fairness in selection process is dependent upon the manager and the institution's hidden agenda.

      Pros

      location - centrally located to the mountains / beaches laid back environment (for the most part) co-workers, many are great to work with

      Cons

      management is out of touch managers are demeaning and uncaring salaries are low deadwood employees are never reprimanded... even get rewarded WTF!?!? management takes the stance that employees are expendable telecommuting is allowed only by CERTAIN managers... total lack of continuity rewards are based on personal relationship NOT abilities or accomplishments
