Pros

Duke has a very collaborative environment and the benefits plan is phenomenal. There are also a great many support systems for postdocs here, like the Duke Office of Postdoctoral Education with career counselors, etc.

Cons

All the typical cons of being a postdoctoral researcher: long hours, no overtime, funding sources being tight and super competitive, etc.

Pros

Management/Supervision is very supportive of employee needs. On-the-job training is excellent. The Customer Service Department is a family-like community.

Cons

Some of the phone calls were difficult due to the caller's perceived sense of entitlement or generally poor attitudes. Sometimes the pressure to keep average speed of answer times down, it feels difficult to give the complex calls sufficient time to resolve the issue.
