Pros

I think a lot of what people think about Duke depends on their specific workplace. The place is huge, and there are a lot of great people here. There's always something to learn, being on the cutting edge of health care, and overall the benefits are very good (education particularly).

Cons

Many units are terribly understaffed, which is a problem that compounds itself. Quality of management depends on where specifically you work. Every year Duke does market adjustments to bring their pay up to market standards, yet they never seem to catch up.

Pros

Great opportunity to learn, especially for new graduates. Small family-type atmosphere. Smart, thoughtful, patient orientated physicians.

Cons

Pay scale & benefits. CMA's do a lot of the workload, nurses-not so much.

Pros

I have worked at Duke for 9 years. Its a ok place to work. Raises and benifits can be a lot better.

Cons

Management can listen more to what the employees have to contribute to make the work place more enjoyable to work in.
