Pros

there are great health benefits

Cons

this has been a very political environment. duke just wants to make money and they don't particularly care how they do it. i leave most meetings thinking that management is incompetent. no one seems to have the answer to any questions.

Pros

Tons of smart people working to help patients and develop ground-breaking research. There a great work/life balance and a very good benefits package for salaried employees.

Cons

There a definitely limit on how high you can go without an advanced degree. Experience helps, but can only take you so far.

Pros

As a nurse, you get to take care of all kinds of patients. A lot of opportunities for mobility, however most of it is lateral and is not considered a promotion

Cons

Pay isn't the best around. Lots of inexperienced nurses and a fairly high-turnover. Management is always changing something, however they do support the nurses.
