Pros

I have been a part of Dynamics from almost the beginning of the company, being with the company for over 10 years. Before that I had my own company for five years, then was engineering manager for another local company for 20 years. I am now 70 and continue to work full time for Dynamics instead of retiring, to help move the new products forward. Dynamics is a company for the person who loves to implement new ideas and technology into a product that initially seems impossible, but then becomes a reality. Jeff, our CEO, is a creator and has a great imagination of what can be done in the payments industry in particular. If you love new technology, and integrating it into a product, this is the place for you. I have been stretched and had to push the limits of what I thought could be done many times during the past 10 years. Although Jeff is very demanding at times, he has been able to take this company from nothing to a company with several successful product lines now, and much more coming in the future. That takes a lot of energy and skill to accomplish. He literally works day and night moving the company forward. He is the most creative and hard working CEO that I have ever worked for. He has grown in his management abilities significantly over the past 10 years, seeking advise and counsel from many successful business leaders, and implementing what he has learned. The pace is fast and the designs include new technology that has not been done before, This creates the need for the Teams to be flexible and make changes quickly as needed. This often creates friction, due to the customer time lines and required product changes that require extra effort to accomplish. But in the end, when the product is finished, and the customer needs are met, it is rewarding. The conflict between design time lines and customer needs has always existed in all my past engineering positions, it is not something new with Dynamics. Jeff has many new ideas in the works for the future, and I look forward to seeing those brought to completion. Would love to have you join in the journey. Jim Workley-Chief Scientist

Cons

You must be a self-starter, understand the pressures and challenges with a start up company, and be willing to put in some extra effort to be successful at Dynamics. Many of our past employees did understood these things.

Pros

I wrote a positive review two years ago that I felt I should refresh. We're still in the mode of a startup company and the pressures that go along with that haven't lessened. I consider myself a self-starter and motivated and have taken initiatives to further my education in several areas. The company has been supportive and paid for training in my area of interest and background that support our goals and activities. I can honestly say that my experiences at Dynamics have been both the most challenging and rewarding of my entire career as an engineer. Some might list the constant pressures, changing demands, and long hours/days during challenging times in the cons section, but for those wanting to truly stretch themselves professionally and personally, for met the growth and opportunities here are rewarding. The company has also taken to heart, more so I think over the past several years, promoting personal and professional growth and team building for all employees. We haven't been perfect (who is?), but we stick together through the tough times and continue to strive to make our unique product a global success. That said, we have our foot firmly planted around the world in this market where others have tried and failed, and we continue to gain real traction. At times I didn't think our card product would live up to our own expectations but in reality we have surpassed what I thought was possible when I began working here. Our team is still small and will grow as our product penetrates further into the market. Our product requires expertise in many engineering and technical disciplines, some of which are electrical, software, firmware, manufacturing, automation, materials, chemical, magnetics, IC design, etc. Many of our designs and processes are new / unique and were developed in-house. In summary, my experience here has been a great learning experience and personally rewarding as I see the fruitful results of all of our efforts to put a unique product into the market that serves the needs of many around the world in a way that the traditional product could not possibly do. I hope we can attract new talent to expand our team to accelerate our growth and success.

Cons

Understaffed - need to fill roles or expand in some areas. HVAC in some areas of the building needs attention.

Pros

Dynamics Inc. is an ambitious company that is still working to develop its technology and its culture. As with any young company there is a lot of learning and development to do. This provides great opportunity for anyone with similar levels of ambition and a vision of how to create a positive culture that nurtures creativity and talent to show they can affect change and make an impact. It is an open question what kind of company Dynamics Inc will turn out to be, but the enterprise will provide opportunity for people who want to help answer such a question. The technology is challenging: we are trying to pack an interactive computer, with sensing, actuation and artificial intelligence into a familiar credit card form factor. There is a host of engineering challenges associated with such a device, a global supply chain to develop, manufacturing technologies that don't yet exist, and a drive to a price point that could put this technology in the hands of any person in any corner of the planet. And it needs to keep working for 5 years. The CEO is the founder and has a vision of how this technology can revolutionize the process of individuals making payments and the payments industry as a whole. He is fully committed to this company being a success.

Cons

Dynamics Inc. is an ambitious company that is still working to develop its technology and its culture. So, there is a lot of room for improvement and sometimes the improvements don't come fast enough and mistakes still get made. A lot of frustration arises from these issues. As with any young company there is a lot of learning and development to do. We don't yet know how to create a positive culture that nurtures creativity and talent as we aggressively try to deploy our products and that results in people feeling that it's a grind. Because its an open question what kind of company Dynamics Inc will turn out to be, there's uncertainty, and a concern that it will be one that uses people up and gives nothing in return. The technology is challenging: we are trying to pack an interactive computer, with sensing, actuation and artificial intelligence into a familiar credit card form factor. There is a host of engineering challenges associated with this technology and not knowing all the answers means long hours, blind alleys, lots of ideas that don't work out, worries that we can't get it done, and sometimes feeling that we're not good enough to get it done. The CEO is the founder and has a vision of how this technology can revolutionize the process of individuals making payments and the payments industry. Dealing with the stress of trying to make a venture like this succeed, when there are a million ways that it can fail, brings out behaviors in him that can be tough to deal with.
