Pros

Market Leadership in APM. Good people.

Cons

Problems at the Exec Leadership level. Dynatrace is a spinoff from Compuware, when Compuware was acquired by private equity firm, Thoma Bravo. The problem is that the Execs come from two different companies, and are jockeying for position/rank. It is clearly obvious by everyone, and simply sets too many bad examples (one product favored over another, mis-information about capabilities, fighting to protect their job rather than come together and integrate solutions to protect market leadership) Thoma Bravo came in and swung the axe big time. The firm also acquired several of DT's competitors, and things got worse as expected. Such a shame as this type of thing happens all too often.

Design as pixel-pushing unit

Pros

Financial stability. Some talented and nice people around.

Cons

It's disheartening to see our design & research team being reduced to serving as glorified pixel-pushers. Until a couple years ago it used to be growing, in quality. At the same time, it's concerning to see several members of the team migrating to the Product organization for what seems to be more of a social rather than solid professional reason. The Austrian exclusive circle. We have an ok design director, who has however been isolated. We previously had another good one, who started to build a promising multidisciplinary function: he was most likely made run away from DT due to mismanagement and political maneuvering (favoring those who best accommodated and flattered our management team, for their own personal career benefit). As a ux and product designer I don't feel well represented or properly valued here. I don't see positive movement under our current leadership, and don't feel safe sharing my perspective through our internal channels.

Pros

Technology and industry, global nature of the company, not a toxic culture

Cons

On a scale of 1 to 10: accountability by individuals = 2, company processes = 2, work life balance = 2 Lots of time wasted on low value tasks Culture of escalation People are afraid to have difficult conversations so things just get watered down and everyone muddles through

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We appreciate your acknowledgment of the technology, global scale, and positive culture at our company. Though, we’re sorry to hear about your concerns regarding accountability, company processes, and work-life balance. Addressing these issues is essential for fostering a productive work environment. Regarding accountability and difficult conversations, we have recently implemented a global career framework that provides more clarity on individual roles, responsibilities, and pathways, including leadership training for every people leader in our organization. Regarding work-life balance, we are proud to offer flexible work, paid time off programs, employee assistance programs, and company-designated, quarterly paid Wellness Days, among others. These initiatives help us to ensure our employees feel supported to take time off so they can show up as their best self at work. Your feedback and suggestions are crucial to our continuous improvement efforts. Thank you again for being a part of Dynatrace and helping us work towards a better workplace for everyone.
