Layoffs and burnout

Pros

The colleagues are pleasant to work with, but not if they’re managers. Benefits are OK but you get more and better benefits at other tech companies

Cons

Management burns out employees and takes no responsibility for demanding too much of a dwindling workforce.

Good product but culture is slowly plummeting

Pros

- product is best in class for observability, although I do wish they did more to protect user privacy - individual teams and managers have a great culture and a strong passion for the product. - offices are in good locations with lots of available options nearby for lunches or after hours team events. - wellness days were a great addition, employees now get one company wide day off per Quarter

Cons

- pay is below average unless you have a manager willing to fight for you. - new features are released without training for the delivery teams who help our customers implement them. There doesn’t seem to be a good line of communication from R&D to Delivery. - There is a noticeable lack of diversity, especially the higher up you go in the company, our all white C suite is a prime example. Highly qualified people of color have been denied promotions while unqualified friends of managers get hired instead. - ERGs are used to showcase our diversity but the company does not work with these ERGs or any of our under represented groups to enact actual change to our white centric (and sometimes racist) culture. - many women at this company face regular sexual harassment at conferences and company events. There are no repercussions if the offender is a high performing seller. - our C suite has made multiple anti Palestinian comments despite knowing Palestinian employees have lost family and friends in Gaza. Following the backlash over these comments, our CEO did not apologize and instead publicly posted support for Israel on LinkedIn.

We’re glad to hear your positive feedback about our product and the strong culture within individual teams and management. However, we’re sorry to learn about the challenges you've encountered. We’re proud of the various backgrounds and perspectives of our team, as we foster an environment where individuality is valued, and integrity is deeply embedded in everything we do. Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and DEIB Advisory Board are essential to our mission of cultivating an inclusive culture. Run Far Away - Toxic Sludge Nightmare Ahead

Pros

With a few notable exceptions of some wonderful people who maintained their humanity, there are absolutely no pros in any way, shape, or form for Dynatrace. Unfortunately, most of those people eventually end up leaving because of all the Cons listed below. Have a Silkwood shower after dealing with anyone over there.

Cons

1. Wasteful management of time, resources, (LOTS of) money, and employee cycles/productivity to cover their poor business management choices overall. 2. Burning out their team resources left and right and not giving a damn - with zero thought to continuity management, let alone having to 100% redo projects due to the lack of understanding or whim of whomever holds the magic totem pole for the week/quarter/year. 3. Blatant harassment and/or horrific management styles ignored by HR (or worse, condoned by HR). Very fratboy-centric behavior and allowed comments at management or above level (think of the derogatory terms that start with the letters B, C, and S - all used for woman typically - being used in open forums or meetings). 4. Let's call a spot a spot - the obvious "pay for play"/fake Glassdoor reviews done by a HR team or their lackeys under false credentials to boost the scores of the company and CEO (check the older listings - not so rosy or "perky!" in their descriptions). 5. Moving HQ to a new building to simply gain signage rights against I-95 corridor for the sake of the ego of the management team. 6. If they are so "transparent", ask them to publish their employee attrition rates. WAY higher than average software companies. 7. Non-competitive pay packages with zero ability to have a growth plan in career development. 8. No pay increases - they instead rely on AMEX/VISA gift cards to "reward" their employees. 9. Middle management has their lips pursed 24/7 on their boss's butt - zero management/guidance of how to groom their own people to gain skill sets, be better employees, work more collaboratively. 10. Get JVS and Bernd out of the way and maybe the absence of their egos will correct the company - it is a constant "kiss the ring" mentality with each of them.

Thank you for your comments. We value feedback from current as well as former employees. First, as Head of Recruiting at Dynatrace, I can assure you there is no pressure on employees to write “positive” reviews. We ask new and existing employees to consider writing a review of their experience, whether it be positive or negative, at any time. We review these comments to better understand our company’s business practices and culture – a way for us to seek areas in need of improvement. I appreciate your comments related to various components of the company. Having been Head of HR prior to my role at Dynatrace, I know establishing and maintaining a positive and rewarding culture is an important aspect for every company, like it is at Dynatrace, especially during a period of growth. In Dynatrace’s case, the company has grown significantly in terms of size and revenue. As a result, we’ve made significant investments to accommodate employees, including upgrades to amenities and office space to make work more enjoyable. Regarding your point about harassment and derogatory comments within the company, this is something Dynatrace does not tolerate under any circumstances. We have formal procedures in place for individuals to report such incidents to HR, with a formal process for making sure such issues are resolved to ensure employees feel safe and comfortable at work. As far as pay and competitive packages are concerned, the company offers a wide range of benefits to employees, including the recently rolled out of an ESPP program which has had two enrollment periods to date. Additionally, all employees are required to have reviews with their direct Manager to ensure growth plans and the opportunity to progress in the company. We’re sorry you felt you didn’t receive such benefits during your time at Dynatrace, as we continuously review market data to ensure we remain competitive and attract and retain top talent. -David St. Cyr, Director of Talent Acquisition
