Pros

Flexibility and workday freedom Solid (but impotent) direct management Niche products, so you can get hired w/ aptitude and w/out experience

Cons

Zero advancement opportunities Company training is an indoctrination while role training is whatever you can find on your own. In the midst of a poorly planned and haphazardly implemented environmental product flip. Going live with a barely Beta product. Beholden to several less than trustworthy PE firms. Profit Profit Profit is what matters. Not sure who is really in charge.

It's All About What Department You Join

Pros

Some departments seem like supportive, well-managed teams, the benefits are fantastic, and I hear wonderful things about the Washington, D.C. office

Cons

Harassment in certain departments is rampant and permitted to go on by Human Resources as long as it's not direct justification for a law suit. The company projects an image of being supportive and sensitive to those with disabilities, but if your disability is a mental illness, certain managers and directors will trigger you until you leave if they don't like you and/or your work style. They will do this by holding you back from promotion, preventing you from learning new skills, and by keeping your pay as low as possible. Hostile employees that cause problems with multiple coworkers are protected as long as upper management likes them personally. This is not a safe place for many.
