Pros

Great management team, tight knit colleague community, fast growing company through acquisitions and new products. Fort Worth head quarters has a great open layout and is easy to get through as DFW is close by.

Cons

Complexity of product integration, compatibility and enhancement, caused by high rate of new acquisitions. Niche industries served by software may take a while to learn if you're not from those industries.

Pros

They have a great culture and family atmosphere. The management does the right thing on behalf of our people. The mission is clearly defined and the senior management team is transparent about the performance of the company. We have a strong and loyal customer base that many of us have become friends with over the years. I love working at ECi.

Cons

it's usually easy to manage work life balance, but there are times when that's more difficult.

Pros

I joined the company over 3 years ago and have had a fantastic experience so far. We have come a long way since then and senior management is always trying to improve processes and culture. It has a small business feel despite being a mid sized company. Reading some of the other recent reviews I was pretty taken aback and shocked by what some folks were saying and I think its easily explainable by the fact that we did go through some cuts recently and it appears to be folks who have an axe to grind. As for those claiming to be "current" employees, if you're that unhappy about working here, why would you continue to be here? If the answer is to collect a check, then its obvious you have no ambition and desire to change and grow with the company. When I first joined ECi, I was a little surprised by the demographics of the employee base. ECi has acquired a number of companies over the years and they were not located in the most exciting cities, but rather than layoff and consolidate, they chose to retain talent and help them grow. Of course, this also means the average age of these employees was pretty high, which means there's going to be some folks who are resistant to change, even if its for the better. Since then, management has focused on upgrading talent where necessary as we are outgrowing the capabilities of some folks. That being said, on the whole, colleagues are incredibly friendly and supportive. With the talent upgrades there comes more organization and structure. The company has really built out the HR team and introduced a number of initiatives to boost employee morale and create a culture of excellence. Executive leadership is incredibly talented and knows exactly what they're doing. The company has been growing at a double digit rate for a number of years now and the future looks pretty bright. Work life balance is second to none. While I'm sure it varies a great deal from role to role, I've found management to be very flexible and understanding of people's personal lives. I can routinely work remotely if I need to, and getting time off has never been a problem as long as I've accrued the vacation days.

Cons

Compensation is below market but the work-life balance tends to balance that out somewhat. Health insurance benefits are about to take a hit as we switch from PPOs to HSAs (our employees aren't the healthiest and costs have been skyrocketing). 401(k) matching is very limited. Opportunities to move up can be limited at times, but this also depends on what you want to do and the current situation that you're in. If you're willing to take on new responsibilities and change roles, and you've demonstrated an ability to do your job well, you'll be able to move around and up. Senior management does a pretty good job of identifying talent.
