What a disaster

Pros

Nothing you can't find anywhere else, and it'll vary between divisions.

Cons

Where should I even begin. I worked here full time for 4 years and it started off so-so and got progressively worse. The benefits are horrible, especially the health insurance. Everything is out of network and the prescription coverage is garbage. Division level management is a complete cluster with Presidents and VPs being close-minded and completely ignorant of good business practices, including how to provide basic customer service. Their attitude is "get the sale and bind the customer into a contract." Then once it comes to light that the customer didn't get what they thought they would, ECI throws that in their face and says "too bad it wasn't specified in your contract." If you like taking abuse from customers due to a lack of sales ethics, I guess ECI is right for you! Want managerial support? How about mentorship? You'll get neither one at ECI. Not that managers have the skills to train their staff anyway, since ECI prefers to hire young, cheap and stupid as opposed to seasoned, experienced professionals who know enough to know their own worth for one thing. And let's talk about salary! The salaries range from 40k to 75k for the exact same role in some cases. If you absolutely have to work here, ask for the higher number. And don't plan on getting a yearly raise. That went away with COVID.

Pros

Benefits are okay. Good leadership, however the is very much dependent on your team/product. Pre-Rona the events were fun

Cons

Where to start...the pandemic has shown the companies true colors in regards to their attitude towards their support personnel. I'm sorry, but I find it absolutely absurd that all three levels of support are considered lateral transfers, and don't come with pay increases if you move up. This company is a little too focused on sales, snd trying to nickel and dime customers. I get that it is a business, but whoever approved the plan of offering a discount to customers if they don't take initial training needs to rethink their career. Because then it just falls on support, who spend 90% of their time training the same customers, rather than fixing genuine errors. Support is some of the lowest paid in the industry. Especially with the remote workforce now, you can find another product support job and easily make 20-30K more. The High5 points which we get taxed on, do not make up for lower pay in the slightest.

Pros

Good Pay, flexible hours for family, great team members

Cons

Leadership direction is challenging with their thought on the business and the customer base. No leeway with customers, all about having a cash cow of revenue increase, causing a high loss in customer turn over, especially on the manufacturing side. Leadership doesn't connect with customers as much as they should, hiding behind the individual contributor roles to take on difficult challenges with customers. Product investment is very minimal on certain vertical products, especially those that are on legacy products. Not good collaboration within departments, which is difficult when trying to work with a client. eci's overall great place to work is good outside of manufacturing.
