Horrible Benefits, Sales Driven, Dishonest Management, Low Pay, No advancement opportunities, Biased Review Process, Outdated Technology. THE health insurance and dental benefits are atrocious. The company only cares about sales numbers, and cares little to improving the quality of their products. Sometimes a feature is sold and promised to a customer before it has even started being developed. Management is often Dishonest. They claimed they had to let go of employees due to a loss of revenue caused by a poor upper management position, but then hire a bunch of new product managers right after firing said employees. The product management has little to no actual technical knowledge, yet makes decisions involving software products and seems to exist solely to frustrate the developers. The company has many outstanding issues with its software products and mountains of technical debt built up over years of prioritizing speed over quality to the point where it may take days to find a bug simply because the code is so poorly written. Instead, they make decisions like randomly spending 3 - 5 months changing text so a product can be sold in Australia. As if having a pandemic wasn't enough, let's have all of our developers do data entry work for 5 months instead of fixing and updating our broken legacy software.

Needs to invest more into its products and headcount to provide better customer support

Benefits are okay, but not great. Distributed employees that I work with, but that's been the case for every company I've recently worked with.

I was a part of an acquisition and it was truly a horrible experience. We were told for months about how lucky we were to be a part of ECI. They shove this idea of the ideal work place down your throat and even have incentives surrounding good employment reviews. This company prides itself on earning awards and accolades related to being a great place to work. What is not known is that employees are strongly encouraged to positivley rate their work experience with ECI. I worked for the acquired company for 15 years and held multiple positions. The company and the product was successful. Less than a year into the acquisition, my department was moved offshore and our positions were eliminated. There are still good people that work for this company but the upper management is out of touch. An average day is filled with pointless meetings where absolutely nothing gets decided. Up until the day I was told that my services would no longer be needed, I had not spoken once to any employee from ECI directly. There are unreasonable expectations set by management who openly admit that they do not understand or want to understand the scope of the project. This company sells multiple software packages and on more than one occasion, management has stated that they do not want to know how the software actually works. Better than that, they do not care. In turn, they propose unrealistic goals. They also eliminate industry experts in favor of a lower cost option. This compromises the integrity of the products they sell. While I have not experienced this directly, I have also heard that their customer support team is constantly admonished for taking time to actually help a customer. I realize the point of manufacturing and sellling a product is to turn a profit and they do this successfully but at the cost of those that work for them.

The software is often derided internally and externally. This makes it difficult to support products. Once customers are through the door, support's shoulders are leaned on heavily to make up for the products' shortcomings. Any input from support is often pushed off as not understanding or fully appreciating the products.
