A Joke

Pros

paycheck, instructors truly care about their students and non-administration employees get along great

Cons

The pay is CRAP, you have people with terminal degrees making $45,000 a year. You have more than 15 faculty members crammed into one room. Admissions representatives are treated like car lot salesmen and are just told to "recruit recruit recruit." Quality means nothing to these people, it is all about quantity - which can be seen by some of the student body. They don't care about staff or faculty unless it is administrative staff. And administrative staff doesn't care about anyone else because they are making big bucks to say "yes" to everything the owner wants. This place doesn't value education and they definitely don't value good faculty and staff when they have them. This place is not a real university, it is a JOKE, which can be seen by the way instructors are treated. The benefits changed every year I worked there and it was for the worse. Human resources has NO idea what they are doing and when open enrollment time came around, instead of clearly explaining the benefits to you, they tried to "sell" you the plan that would best benefit the company overall, not each individual employee. You work weekends, holidays, and your work schedule CONSTANTLY changes. And if you are a salary employee, you are REQUIRED to put in a minimum of 40 hours of week (which goes against the whole idea of being a salary employee) and they fix your schedule to where it's pretty much impossible to work 40 hours or less. They also require you to attend work functions without getting credit for them. And the rules at each university is different based on the personal preferences of the campus president. And campus presidents, don't even have a terminal degree (or even a masters in some cases), yet they are running a college.
