Pros
Amazing training class. The trainers are very thorough and explain everything really well. One of the best training classes I've ever had the pleasure to attend! The pay is consistent and always on time. A lot of hours. On-Call shifts are great (used to be horrible) You have your own company car and gas card. Supervisors and leads are great people. Especially the supervisors running Kirkland and Mt. Vernon. They always have your back and treat you like a human.
Cons
Pay could be a lot better. We locate gas and power which are incredibly important utilities. $20-$22/hr doesn't reflect that. Pay your employees more. ALWAYS DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Take hundreds of pictures of your locates!!! Take pictures of any as-built a contractor gives you. You WILL be called back on a damage ticket eventually. Supervisors investigate the damage and refer back to your documentation so always be sure your pictures/locates are clear and legible. IMPORTANT: If you are promoted please speak up and get everything IN WRITING. I was going to take another position at another company but the area manager wanted me to stay so he promoted me. He promised a bump in pay. This was all done verbally. I made the mistake of accepting it without having it in writing. I didn't have a bump in pay at all for 6 months. I decided to resign and accept another job. TL;DR CYA AND DOCUMENT EVERYTHING
