Pros

Stable company with the appearance of secure jobs.

Cons

If you are in technology and have experience you will find yourself stuck behind low performing minimal education and no experience yes people. The company is due for a big correction but the poorly qualified will fight to stay so I am trying to get out to a less like government and better managed company to work for. The bosses do not live up to promises and they will sacrifice you to retain an image whether you have done something or not. Many time served promotion tracts.

Great company, old technology

Pros

They train the employees, take care of them if they provide value, have great work-life balance, have a free on-site gym - really everything is great except the con.

Cons

The programming is done in an obscure top-down language called Mapper. It makes sense that they use it because it fits their needs and they have enough influence of it to prevent it from becoming obsolete. However, if you like new technology and OO programming, this isn't it.

Pros

Stable company that is diversifying and growing. A very genuine and down to earth CEO that is very likable. Some good benefits. Well maintained work spaces. Many good co-workers.

Cons

Extreme amount of nepotism and cronyism in hiring and promotions on the side of the company I work in. Positions for family members of managers who have no degree or experience are equal to or higher than those of employees with 4 year degrees and experience. Have also seen denial of advancement to a longer term employee, but advancement allowed to a family member of same ranking.
