Pros

If you're on a smaller team, the atmosphere can be wonderful. They leave you alone to do your work and the managers are able to make changes suggested by the team. Basically, any team that is not on the vertical teams will function better because the people doing the work get to make suggestions on process changes that are more easily implemented.

Cons

The vertical teams are very micromanaged and numbers driven. With so many hands in the management pot, your amazing ideas on process changes are ignored, lost or just flat out disregarded since 17 people all have to agree on one thing. Seventeen is an estimate, of course.

Pros

Decent salary and benefit package.

Cons

Nothing discussed during the interview was true/correct. Material condition of plant is deplorable, no Preventative Maintenance program, the plant is run from the bottom up as the management staff continues to drop the ball. Safety is a major concern. Components are not identifiable outside of a tribal knowledge system, making the LOTO system unsafe at best. Structured training does not exist further jeopardizing safety and reliable operation. There is a large turnover of the workforce at this facility (Northeastern Power Company)

Pros

Results of recent internal survey listed free parking and 25cent cokes as the main benefits for working here.....enough said

Cons

Absent senior management, no opportunity for promotion/advancement, enormous division between VP and up and everyone else, save your way to success mentality, aversion to risk, zero growth
