Pros

Office location is good. Project types are diverse. Company is international which can bring in interesting work and opportunities to travel abroad.

Cons

Management / Leadership is poor and not very effective, tends to be distant and does not set a good ethical example. Not a collaborative studio culture, poor employee morale. Good work is not recognized or rewarded. Unable (or unwilling) to retain talented architects. Does not spend sufficient funds for good office equipment or even basic supplies.

Pros

- Lots of overtime opportunities - Hybrid

Cons

- Below-Average Pay: Compensation is not competitive with industry standards, making it difficult to justify long-term commitment. - Minimal Incentives: Bonuses and salary increases are rare and often insignificant, leading to low motivation among employees. - Poor Communication: Lack of clear and effective communication between teams and management results in frequent misunderstandings and project misalignment. - Lack of Accountability: A culture of blame-shifting makes it difficult to foster teamwork and trust, often leading to unnecessary stress and inefficiencies. - Limited Career Growth: With little investment in employee development and professional advancement, long-term career progression within the company is challenging. - High Turnover & Low Morale: Due to the combination of inadequate compensation, poor leadership, and a lack of recognition, employee morale suffers, and turnover remains high.

We are disappointed to here you did not enjoy your time at Epstein. You state the turnover is high and employee morale is low which is incorrect. Based the title you listed, you worked in our Architecture/Interiors department. We haven't had anyone resign from that department since the beginning of 2023. We have extremely strong leadership in these disciplines and lots of opportunity for growth given the number of new projects coming into the firm. Unfortunately it sounds like it just wasn't a good fit for you. We hope you have found a better fit elsewhere.

We are sorry to hear you had a bad experience at Epstein. We are glad that you think the staff is talented. We couldn't agree more! Compensation trends over the past few years have been difficult for all companies to navigate. Epstein is doing its best to monitor the market and adjust accordingly.
