Pros

First I think 2.5 Stars fits better Project managers are good people and a joy to work with when not full throttle towards deadlines. When they do have after work events they are very fun. Lots of different types of projects to work on/the fast pace helped me grow rapidly in my skills, though it was not great in the moment Holidays on Friday also get Monday off.

Cons

Not great salary and benefits. As mentioned in other reviews it really is a penny pinching company, not much training, billing overhead is a no no, no laptop, and lots of this is client building project meaning not many hours to work on it. People seem so focused on work its hard to build relationships with coworkers

We are glad to see you listed both pros and cons. No company is perfect and Epstein is not the exception to this rule. Triannual checkups are coming up soon. We encourage you to be open with your manager and talk about your concerns. We are always looking for feedback on how we can improve.

Pros

The engineers and architects that have been here a while are always more than happy to collaborate and assist another discipline. Within my group, I have found a lot of support from direct peers, pms, and the discipline lead for professional goals and also personal circumstances. The variety of projects is great.

Cons

High turnover rate, stressed staff, unreasonable design-build deadlines that are always pushed back because they are unobtainable from the start and based on the construction schedule only.

Epstein reorganized in 2022 to address our concerns with project management. We promoted one of our best to Director of Project Management and are starting to see real progress in improving the way our projects are managed.

Pros

Half-day Fridays, reasonably strong engineering group, IT is good, Revit work is ahead of the curve, the admin staff are a joy to work with

Cons

Transparently unhealthy dynamics at top tiers of management, some people don't respond to your emails and do not hold themselves accountable, too much of a "copy/paste" mindset, high turnover, poor project scheduling, noisy workplace environment, some projects are rather morbid.

We agree with your assessment that our admins are top notch. We have invested in our Revit capabilities over the past several years and it is wonderful to see the investment is paying off. Like most workplaces, Epstein knows we are not perfect. We have recently gone through a reorganization amoungst our management team to ensure that each individual's strengths are being maximized. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to make strides towards addressing our staff's concerns.
