      High Expectation and Low Compensation

      Pros

      Interesting work, friendly people, environmental consulting leader, some work flexibility, good safety culture, good integration of new hires, opportunity to work on an array of projects

      Cons

      Poor work/life balance, no compensation for regularly working late or on weekends, low number of vacation days and have to work on vacation days, low promotional raises when a promotion can be attained, hard to get promoted, indifferent upper management, high stress job, overworked and significantly under paid

      Pros

      The individuals that you work with are very friendly and competent, office management treats people well. Employee resource groups are active and engaged, so there is a good sense of inclusion for (some) minority groups. Benefits and work flexibility are good.

      Cons

      There is a HEAVY corporate hand and it's all about profit: Huge emphasis on utilization with higher goals than other environmental companies, there is not enough work to make those goals. Rounds of cuts happen every year and the approach is cold-heartedly corporate. You will be blamed for a situation that is not in your control. They will try to force a resignation, presumably to keep unemployment insurance costs down. Seems like KKR is trying to squeeze as much juice out of the fruit as possible, like a typical investment firm. Best not to join until KKR is out of the picture.

      Pros

      Protection of the environment, growing organization, great teammates.

      Cons

      No corporate identity, goals and values are only a sell tool, earnings are all for shareholders not investing a dime on their personnel ... a sin if you are in consultancy where your personnel is your only asset.
