Not What It Use To Be

Pros

Inside parking, benefits, new building, fitness work out area, Market Café and downtown location.

Cons

Very chaotic at upper management level. Lots of turnover and lack of leadership. Hard place to work and advance. Pay could be much better. Its seems every year the work environment gets more unstable and out of control as we loose key managers and workers. It has changed over the years and is now a totally different workplace then when I first started. I have seen many managers/friends come and go.

MAKE GOALS OR YOUR FIRED !

Pros

No Pros unless you like taking advantage of people to make yourself look good and to keep your job.

Cons

You will make your goals. Its mandatory. You will be forced to sell. Sell. Sell. Sell. You are forced to shove products down customers throats. Especially the poor and elderly which are easy prey. Its dead wrong. I do have a conscious. To bad the leadership at ESL does not. ESL then will give the money away and Dave Feidler will shine in the community as a hero. Dave Feidler gives a $500,000 gift to the United Way while I screw an 80 year old man sick with cancer'. It's so I can make my goals and keep my job. I am stressed out all the time from this place. Same customers every week bank at ESL. Hard to make goals with no new customers coming in. Management could care less about what you have to say they just tell you to make goals or you are out the door. Its just not worth the stress and what you get paid plus very conflicting with my morals. Its all for a sick CEO that has no ideal how to run a credit Union or how to treat employees or customers. Its a non profit credit union out to screw members including widows, elderly, poor, sick and dying and using employees. Then we have the CEO's foolish minion upper managers that question nothing but follow orders. Mindless zombie managers that are useless. Thank God I still know right from wrong and have decided this is not the place I want to be working for the rest of my life. I am ashamed to be working here at all. ESL does not have to be run the way it is but but the CEO is one poor leader. I can not live with myself being dishonest and a predator so that I can make goals to serve a leader that is a fool. Finding a job where I can truly serve members with honesty, dignity and with good intentions is my goal. I really love working with people but can not reach my potential at ESL. It never will..

Pros

Room to move up if you're passionate and good at sucking up to those necessary. They switched it so that you can lose your job or get written up for failure to meet sales goals.

Cons

Takes a LONG time to get to certain positions that might be ENTRY-LEVEL somewhere else. Expect people with degrees to work their way up... What the point in getting a degree? They say you can only reach a certain point before it becomes necessary. However there certain circumstances may come about where you have to take on responsibilities of another position that only someone with a "degree" is qualified for. For a credit union, they are EXTREMELY sales oriented, they try to mold you into thinking that you're doing something good by shoving certain products down peoples throats. Working in branches become tough when most of the patrons become regulars and you've sold them everything possible. For what you may make, it's NOT worth the stress.
