We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your review! It’s wonderful to hear how you are able to find and accept assignments with ease. We’re sorry you are not satisfied with the pay. We will continue to work with our partnering districts to influence rate increases when possible.

Pros

Easy to get into a management position with no experience.

Cons

Training is nearly nonexistent. They will put you in a salaried position so they can increase your workload without increasing hourly pay then fire you if you try to set boundaries regarding work/life balance. You can make more working at Walmart putting in the same number of hours without the unacceptable amount of responsibility for the pay.

Pros

Great full time job during the school year, because you can be a building sub and make $150 a day. You can also choose what school(s) you work in and there is not detriment to you taking a day off here or there. It's very much up to you how much you want to work so you have a lot of freedom.

Cons

You only get paid when you work. Aka when the kids don't have school, you don't get paid. You also are provided with barely any (if any at all) training, no vacation or sick days, and minimal benefits. They do provide options for working over the summer, which is nice, but it's not at all dependable like a regular full time job.

Pros

Flexibility is the best part.

Cons

Teachers are now presumed to be all criminals. ESS fails to provide training to address this anti-teacher hostility. Parents will complain about everything and involve local cops. These cops have easy jobs sitting around and watching video all day. They will invent crimes that don't exist to make parents happy. Teachers are getting criminally charged for walking down the halls during break, talking to students before school, giving an honors high school student a small piece of candy, etc. Avoid Bucks County PA like the plague. The DA is a fascist. ESS does nothing to protect its employees. If you take this job, be sure to join the teachers' union. You may need the legal insurance and support of the union, even if you disagree with its politics.

Pros

Flexible schedule, ability to turn down work without losing your job

Cons

Not steady income, outsource their payroll so if you ever need to talk to someone, sometimes it takes 2 or 3 calls to get to the right person. Not much training provided. If you don't already have a teaching background, you're completely unprepared for the classroom environment. Very little communication with employees
