Pay isn’t adequate for expectations

Pros

Small store, may get to choose to work in the back receiving shipment or out on the floor, which is nice on days you may not feel as social as you normally are or feel you are more of an introvert

Cons

Low rate of pay. They expect you to sell $150 per hour and only pay $17 per hour, which is only 11 percent. There is no commission. The figures listed here are far from accurate. I was told that only managers make $23-$24. I have no idea why stylist pay is listed at that rate. They will not negotiate. I actually think Express and Victoria’s Secret pay more. I live in a city where average price for a one bedroom apartment is $1700. I refuse to work for a non-livable wage and you would be better off doing gig work, where you are at least making that amount but you don’t have to sacrifice your weekends.

Pros

The operations within the business are very structured and organized which is a plus. They have high-standards for their employees and they develop their leaders well. It's a great place to work for those that love retail and love connecting with the customer experience.

Cons

There is a really huge push to be able to have a unique and authentic connection and conversation with every single customer that walks through the door, while being encourage to style them, which can be difficult when you have really high foot traffic within a store. You're also expected to train your entire team to do this as well, which is a very different experience than any other retail store. The leadership is very encouraging, but they really do have very high-standard for their store managers and assistant managers. You really need to be able to take constructive criticism and grow from your experiences.
