Pros

I just started working for Everfi; however, my experience thus far has been fantastic. The people are great, and their mission is solid.

Cons

There is a steep learning curve to begin. They management makes the adjustment easy, and there is a lot of support to ask questions to.

Pros

The best parts of this company are: 1. Culture 2. Meaningful Work 3. The People. The culture typifies "start-up culture". It is not focused on hierarchical order-taking, but rather it's about having the opportunity to crank out amazing work for customers while enjoying the experience. If you know how to remain productive, the work-life balance will find you rather than the other way around. *Not a trivial statement* The work itself is inherently meaningful. There are opportunities to see how the lives of adults, teens and children are changed by the project you stayed late or came in early for last month. While we're certainly a for-profit entity, we are driven by the impact we have on underserved communities. Our CEO has spoken passionately both privately and publicly about why this business goes beyond an opportunity to collect a check. It says a lot about your company when people hear about the work you do and wonder if you're a non-profit. While we're clearly working with the largest brands in the world, we're also compelled to revolutionize the way the world thinks about education. The people here are smart, but most importantly, they're results focused. There's less pressure from management to "do what you're supposed to" because everyone is truly self-motivated and seeks to hold each other accountable rather than leaning on policies and disciplinary action to keep things moving. There are multiple people here doing great work without having alphabet soup after their name. That says a lot about those people, as well as what the company values in its workers.

Cons

The cons are those of a small and quickly moving company. There are times you wish you had more cohesive and long-term strategy applied across projects/departments. There are also times you wish there were more people available to do work so that you could do it faster or more robustly. In addition, there are some departments who are still living with a "50 people or less" mentality. This leads to some siloing and small-scale, parochial thinking. If you can name another small, fast-growing company for whom this isn't true, sell the case study to Harvard Business Review.

The culture and community of the company really cultivates creativity, career growth, and autonomy.

Cons

Proximity to a Metro makes it challenging to commute to work.

Thank you for your feedback! Hopefully the benefits of working here outweigh that commute but we are exploring some more creative options for our commuters.
