Pros

Equipment provided, mileage reimbursed, weekly bonus’

Cons

SOP/policies seem to be made up by area management, management only cares about revenue, equipment/software never seems to work, very poor work/life balance, review process takes 3-5 days

Pros

Relaxed workplace, free coffee, good direct managers, ability to work from home

Cons

They hired me and threw me in the deep end to learn a position basically by myself. Once I created a workflow, they had me teach an overseas team, then laid me off due to restructuring. So that team I trained took over my job (because it is cheaper to pay three people in India than one in the US). Also, in general, everyone is overflowing with work and teams do not take time to communicate properly. My direct manager was so extremely stressed that he was sick almost all the time. He was very sweet and tried to stay in contact with us, but because he worked incessantly his response time was poor at times. He was overworked and undervalued.

Thank you for your feedback. The overall market is undergoing a change and because of which it forces companies to look at what areas have more potential and need investment. Strategies and structures change to support the growth areas. While profitability is an important aspect, there are other factors that contribute to the shift in focus.

Pros

Just one pros, regular salary credit

Cons

1. Bad client management, client satisfaction is weighted over employee always. 2. Work life balance is terrible, and when projects are not even interesting (hardly any analytical project) the will to carry on dies pretty quick 3. Tiring working with team which is entirely located offshore 4. No career path, no training, no employee engagement

Thank you for your feedback. EXL is in the growth stage with tremendous potential and the strategy is to propel that by taking on new work. There will always be different type of projects. While we do have personal development programs rolled out on a periodic basis, it does still need more attention. We are working on enhancing our capability development initiatives in the US Geo. We encourage a healthy work-life balance, while some work can be demanding because of deliverables, there are down-times too and that is the nature of the consulting type of business.
