Do Not Work Here

Pros

Some of the people were cool. I had cool peers, but I don't have any positive comments to add here other than that.

Cons

There is an extreme lack of diversity. If you are not an Indian Male, you will not succeed here. There are a FEW women of SVP and above level (mostly Indian), but they are treated as secretaries to keep notes and create presentations. Senior management does not speak highly of these women and this includes the one woman at executive level. HR staff in the US is the worst. Rarely can you get anyone on the phone, unless you have their mobile because though there isn't a "work from home policy", many do not come into the office. There is very high turnover in HR, so I would not be surprised if many are not interviewing to leave. The head of HR does not seem to care enough to do ANYTHING about this. There always seem to be talk of cutting budgets, slashing bonus, and pay increases. Yet the CEO and senior management team make NO EFFORT to lead by example when it comes to their own bonus, travel and expenses.

Pros

Like every company, Datasource has its pain points, but their positives outweigh them. Datasource (DSC) is an excellent niche consulting company that specializes on Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. Their leadership is headed by a gentleman that strives to find the best talent so that DSC can provide the best service. They have worked hard to build strategic partnerships with leading technology companies to secure some of the best opportunities. While most of their clients are found in the Denver, CO area, they have been working on securing clients in other areas nationwide. The office is small, but that can be easily changed. Most people are friendly and approachable, and their annual Christmas party is great as they have flown all consultants (and spouses) in to attend.

Cons

Communication is the biggest Con. The only leader that seems to want to communicate is the Steve Dine (CEO of DSC, not sure of new title under EXL). Engagement managers aren’t really talking to clients and/or taking to their consultants. Another Con is the recent purchase of DSC by EXL. This could eventually become a Pro, but only time will tell. The biggest question is how will EXL affect the way the CEO does business and how it treats their consultants.

Pros

Great company to start a career with - Knowledgable and helpful mentors / colleagues - Steep initial learning curve - Opportunity to work with Fortune 500 clients

Cons

- Aggressive growth policy unsustainable with current talent pool - Management's attempt to acquire new projects (at any cost) leading to dissatisfaction among consultants
