Typical Outsourcing Company

Pros

The pay is good and the hours are flexible.

Cons

EXL bought my company and took away benefits. For example, starting the job I received 15 days PTO, but as I got more seniority I got more PTO hours. After EXL bought us, everyone got 15 days PTO. We also used to have a Christmas party every year and work-sponsored lunches, but that too was taken away when we got bought by EXL. There is a strong feeling that they don't care at all about their employees; they only care about their bottom line.

Pros

Technically there are no Pros. You have to do everything by yourself

Cons

- Face Unnecessary suppression / Bossy way. More VPs than Managers -Unimaginable / impracticle expectations from senior VP's. For e.g, To learn Python in a day and crack interviews -Forced pressure wot work on Weekends -Forced to work even if u leave office at 9 pm - Highly mis-managed -Only objective: Suck people ...benefit company -Non IIT DEGREES are considered WASTE there. and IIT-ians r over pressured so they don't remain Kind or human.

I Wanted to Quit on Day 1

Pros

End of the year bonus (Not sure how much it was, but everyone got one) Raises ( For year 1 got a raise of $600 after working half the year) Holiday party and Summer Cookouts Employee Committee does great events: pizza from Pepe's, wings, chili cook-offs, tea events etc. Flexilbility in hours (on some teams, not USAA) Work from home (on some teams not all)

Cons

On some teams you are worked like a dog, especially the USAA team. The motto on some teams is Quantity over Quality- so we are encouraged to pump out lots of work at low quality for it to bite us in the butts later The CEO is a purely numbers guy and is anti-social. He only cares about the numbers. Don't bother trying to recommend changing strategies because it would create better quality work in the future. Employees are kept in the dark. Absolutely no developmental trainings Team meetings are jokes USAA team is the worst to work on: constantly on the phone with military members upset about their claims, you have to document each call, you are "in-call" all day and have to still do outstanding work. It is like a call center where you are up against the clock to make calls, take calls, send demands, all the while sounding chipper. Most people on the team quit. At least 4 people quit in two quarters (all recent college grads or out of school for 1-2 years). This is definitely a 1-2 year gig if you just need experience to go onto another job. I wouldn't recommend anyone work here if they are actually looking to grow. Many people have a cynical, I just come to work to work attitude.
