I’m usually skeptical about Glassdoor reviews, especially for companies with low ratings. When I saw that EWS had a 2.5 rating, I thought it might be misleading and not as bad as it seemed. However, after a few months at EWS, I can confirm the rating is spot on—it’s every bit as BAD as it looks. The salary is NOT competitive if you’re based in SF or NYC, and the benefits package offers nothing noteworthy. While there are some nice people and teams in the San Francisco office, overall, this is really just a company for people to pass through. The office is rife with politics, and many employees seem to be just going through the motions, collecting their paychecks without any real engagement or passion.

(1) The company's incessant restructuring efforts, often accompanied by yearly layoffs, create a sense of instability and discord. Despite constant reassurances from executives about amazing growth, these changes seem excessive and lack a clear, cohesive strategy, resulting in a fragmented leadership approach. Along with this, very high attrition at all levels, you can see relatively new CEO, CTO, CPO, CMO,etc. (2) There's a prevailing bias towards tenure rather than skill and merit when it comes to reviews, employee recognition and promotions. Evaluation criteria appear subjective, relying heavily on managers and colleagues. opinions that often feel contrived and lacking in transparency. (3)Product Management suffers from a dearth of true product culture and industry best practices. Instead, emphasis is placed on project management for technical initiatives, resulting in a lack of visionary leadership from senior product executives. I am not sure if sr executive product leadership cares or knows better. (4)From a technological standpoint, the company lags significantly behind modern industry standards, missing fundamental technologies that have been commonplace for years. (5)The company's pace resembles a sluggish tempo despite a facade of busyness. This results in minimal output, frustrating high-achieving individuals, but if you are a laidback employee or busy parent, you will enjoy this. If you cannot complete work on time, just forecast a new date.
