Pros

The people doing the "gruntwork," as some call it, are some of the most kind, wonderful, and fun loving people I've had the fortune of getting to know. The location is also near a lot of nice restaurants/good places to get lunch. Roles are being filled with new talent that may steer the companys goals in the right direction, which is why I've given a very generous 2-star rating.

Cons

In less than a year's time the inside sales team at ECI went through FOUR different managers. No more than three months would go by without someone deciding it was time to drastically change the formula of how things should be run. Numerous individuals have had their job descriptions change from what they originally signed up to do, and more and more people have been given extra work with the same (or sometimes even less) pay. The management seems to be throwing different ideas at the wall until something sticks. Unfortunately, the people that this effects have no say in the matter. And those individuals take the heat when things don't go as expected; the word "scapegoat" comes to mind. Training can be hit or miss. Unfortunately it's usually the latter. Often than not training will be provided for those that don't need it, while those that would benefit are forgotten and neglected of the information. There seems to be a plethora of redundant training classes that take place, and seem to be scheduled without taking into consideration the workload. The work itself can be very boring. Often I felt as though I was going through the motions of matching up part numbers, or going through price books. Unless you have a strong desire to figure out what the best material would be for the valve going into Johnny's chicken fat transportation pipeline, you'll get tired of this job very quickly. Lastly, the pay. You will be underpaid the average market rate. By a lot. Use this website (Glassdoor) to look up the average pay for an "Application Engineer" and subtract about 20k. That's about the range you'll be looking at starting here. They've removed any possibility of overtime and requesting a bump in salary will be met with a lot of resistance.
