      Nice place to live but you never get to see it.

      Pros

      I loved living there. Great students, excellent faculty. Great benefits.

      Cons

      No one can actually teach 15 quarter hours with NO repeats, do service, outreach, and research in less than 70 hours per week. Pay is abysmal. Professors’ kids mostly in free school lunches.

      Pros

      Small professional setting. Community environment, which is conducive to longer term work (career). Summers are slow, while the rest of the year is moderate.

      Cons

      Typical bureaucracy of working in a public institution. Little room for vertical movement. Financial management is horrible, which is eliminating job security completely.
