Pros

The people are top notch. Team work is fundamental and rewarded which leads to a very cooperative culture. The technical areas and diversity of product lines within Kodak provide one with the opportunity for both personal and technical growth and the ability to work on many interesting and challenging projects.

Cons

Kodak's transition from its traditional photographic business to the digital side has been a difficult upward battle. This has led to many downsizings and restructurings that have left employees demoralized. The work atmosphere and employee enthusiasm remains low. However, those remaining are tough and determined to make Kodak successful.

Good company to work for - while I'm still employed

Pros

In these uncertain times, I am grateful for my job with Kodak. It is a big-name employer that provides decent benefits and permits some flexibility in work schedule to allow for a good work/life balance. There are good opportunities for advancement for those high achievers. Morale seems good among my co-workers and we are generally treated with respect by management. Overall, Kodak is a good company to work for and I am proud to say I work here. I only wish I was personally more enthusiastic about my job, but that is due to personal motivation and no fault of my company.

Cons

Uncertain future. There has been ongoing downsizing for the last few years, and there are still layoffs happening that are not communicated very well, which makes remaining employees wary. Despite many layoffs, there still seems to be a top-heavy, bureaucratic management structure. There is a definite lack of communication from management to employees on important issues.

Pros

It is a solid place to work in.

Cons

Much of the management has been working for Kodak for a very long time. So there is always a feeling that they are mostly interested on how to keep their sit in place and how to score points instead of concentrating on producing really good products. This makes the working environment unpleasant.
