Our learning management platform, called the Hub, has a training portal full of e-learnings that are meant for every position, especially those in support roles, to learn more about Echo and the logistics industry as a whole. Pros

A small stepping stone on the transportation industry. Don't bother applying. Run away! They just make you do the same repetitive thing each day while the upper management gets a plan go on trips their overall system also sucks big time with lots of hours getting nowhere and making no money.run run run away. There are much better companies to work for !

Cons

Stock holders are what this co cares about most. Upper management is overpaid. Employees underpaid big time! There is no team playing here is a cutthroat horrible company to work for.

Thanks for the review. There's no question that a position in logistics is a hard job, and you're right that we demand a lot from our team as one of the top rated 3PLs in the industry. We believe in career growth and collaboration and do not support the type of atmosphere you described. I'm sorry that Echo wasn't for you and hope that you find a position elsewhere that is a better fit.

What seemed like a great opportunity wasn't what I thought it would be

Young, laid back environment. Relaxed dress code, beer Fridays, company outings.

Cons

Training is long, however I still felt unprepared when I hit the sales floor. Mindless job, calls calls and more calls. The commission structure is highly unattainable, never once in my time at Echo did I break through. Management has somewhat unrealistic goals for reps. Reps are selling Echo's third party logistics services in a highly saturated market. Echo's pricing is not nearly competitive enough in a market where pricing is everything to customers. Echo is nationally traded as a technology company, yet reps find themselves on the phone with IT just about everyday to get issues resolved. You will find yourself working 9+ hour workdays and managers will guilt you into staying late. If you choose to leave at 5 you will find yourself feeling being pressured into staying late in the future or working on your weekends.

Thanks for your comments. Continuous improvement is essential to our development as a company and we appreciate your point of view. For example, the training program has been revamped to include 2 weeks of classroom training and about 4 weeks of hands- on training. It was redesigned to help sales representatives ramp up faster and feel more prepared when hitting the sales floor. Please feel free to reach out directly to HR to discuss any more concerns.
