Pros

After reading some reviews from Echo employees (both present and past), I felt obligated to write a review in regards to the culture & day-to-day life working at Echo Global Logistics. As a top 5 inside sales representative in 2015, I've experienced great success thus far at this company. It was my first job out of college, and my first ever "desk-job", but I honestly could not be happier. In my opinion, when you move into a sales role, you have to hold yourself accountable. Management's job is to put the right tools in front of you to allow YOU to do well. I would be shocked to hear if anybody can make a case against Echo putting the right tools in our hands, especially in regards to our technology, to succeed. While things will go wrong (and I assure you, things have happened in my stay here that I may not agree with), the biggest thing to realize is Echo is a growing company. Just as I learn new things each week, they're learning. The whole goal is to continue to grow, and to do that growing together. If you look at the numbers for this company, as well as the employees who stick around, everything is growing. The only factor is HOW QUICK it's growing, and if it's in regards to compensation, and you are in sales, that factor depends soley on yourself. I will continue to work at this company, and continue to enjoy my job all the while knowing that I'm making more money than most of my college friends.

Cons

Hours can be long. Mind you, my typical day for the first 2-3 years here had me in the office @ 7:30 a.m. (by choice, we are required to be here by 8a.m.) and out of the office at 5p.m... Those hours are not bad whatsoever. As I've grown, and had some "surge busy times", While this defientely is a con, the choice to come in early and stay late is soley mine.

Thank you for writing such a thoughtful and thorough review. It's the people like yourself (congrats on 3+ years!) that have made us what we are and help us maintain a positive culture as we grow. We'll keep working hard to be sure we recognize our talent and those who help us get better year after year.

Pros

Location is good in Scottsdale. Pretty obvious who writes any positive reviews about this office

Cons

Specific to this branch, Where do I start? Huge turnover problems, long hours with very low pay, no advancement opportunity, nepotism, HR violations, terrible leadership, they take failed managers and make them trainers, they take sales reps and make them support reps without any notice or reason why, they fire other managers to fall on the sword for the sr mgmt problems, fake/forced culture, on paper they may look good to the corporate office but people are genuinely not happy here, the list goes on but I prefer to not waste any more time. More general issues, they try to call themselves a technology company but they are severely lacking. software is not strong, releases seem to be to fix problems and never actually create anything. Terrible base pay, long road to commissions, a laughable 401k plan.

Pros

Great for right out of College, or if you are absolutely desperate. Base is $35k across the board, which comes out to minimum wage after the hours they force you to work. There are a few bright stars among the regional leaders. Young and funish for a minute, until you have to pay rent.

Cons

The company seems to value production, above all else. You will be forced to work 12+ hrs every day, plus a Saturday shift, which you won't be compensated for. They'll tell you that it's an "opportunity" to sell more. But we all know it's just to squeeze you. Soon that $35k is minimum wage and it takes most 8-12 months to "break through" to actual commission earnings. You will see a few examples of people that have broken through on the teams, but they typically make $50k for 12+hr days. If you'd like to advance, there's a long line, expect 3+ years before you get promoted. If you ask to transfer to another department, HR will remind you that is the job you signed up for etc. Lots of bullying and shoddy people in the company that make trust an issue at all levels. It's tough when people steal your sales, but when it happens multiple times weekly and the managers defend the people doing the stealing, it's a concern. If you confront the person, they cry foul to the manager which will only earn you a bad mark. Whiny, complainy, young, and entitled. It's scary.
