Pros

I got a pay increase from my previous company so that is what led to me making the move to Edelman and I wish I had never done it.

Cons

They lied to my face about the support I would be getting to be able to do my role. I had a revolving door of managers. The incompetence was staggering in my department. there was so much back stabbing and gaslighting going on in senior leadership is was really sickening. I worked 80+ hours a week and still told I needed to do more, by my last manager who had no idea what my job was.

Pros

Nice people Interesting Clients Teaches Career Buildings

Cons

Severley Lacking diversity If you're black in the SF office good luck. It's barely any of us and no community. If you mess up they make you feel like the world is coming to an end

Pros

-cool client list -free coffee is nice -the office is pretty.

Cons

-there isn't much time for you to "transition" here and if you don't do it quickly then people start to talk -You constantly feel like you're messing up or are going to get fired -You are encouraged to the point you are expected to work over 40 hours a week -You never feel like you're good enough because management never tells you. But they will be the first to get in your face when you mess up. -There are ZERO HR resources to help the transition -My manager told me to stop messing up because people won't want to work with me 1 month into my job.

I'm sorry to read about your experiences. I think you are referring to transitioning between projects but I'm not totally sure. I agree with you that it can take some time to get your bearings and we'd want you to feel supported. Please have an honest discussion with your manager about your concerns and if you'd like HR's support to do that, please reach out for it. Maria O'Keeffe, Executive Director, US HR
