I can not believe this company would be ranked as a top place to work!

Pros

All solutions and products are wonderful.

Cons

Edmentum is not employee or customer focused. The leadership team is excessively focused on processes and metrics, instead of developing people and coaching. Turnover has been rampant since the merger of Archipelago Learning and Plato. My current customers have mentioned that now their concerns are not being addressed in a timely manner or even at all. Very disappointing and discouraging. Most outside sales force members feel unappreciated and handcuffed by the mountain of rules of engagement and ability to sell. At our recent annual sales conference the executive leadership team left many employees stranded in an ice storm and didn't make sure that employees were taken care of. Some people were stranded for days, while the leadership team had arrangements made for them to ensure they were home as scheduled. Very weak leadership.

Pros

I've been with the company over nine years and absolutely love my job. I get to interface with customers on a daily basis and help guide them to make a difference in students' lives. With the aquisition of Archipalego Learning and backing of Toma Bravo, the changes in product have sky-rocketed. I truly feel we are cutting edge and are still going upward. We are finally keeping up with market demand and the future is beyond bright. Yes - changes have had to been made, and change is hard, especially when it comes at the price of an employee's job. But that is the nature of the business, especially when trying to streamline two organizations into one. Excellent benefits, excellent compensation plan.

Cons

Being a remote employee means I am isolated from colleagues with limited interaction.

Pros

Benefits were okay at best. Made some great friends. Sold a quality product into the marketplace.

Cons

Management is clueless. Pay was not great. Quota was unattainable for most territories. Micro managed employees. Countless layoffs....I was not one of them.
