      Worked at Tempe Headquarters. Had a lot of flexibility (able to work from home, for example).

      Pros

      Home office based training is very good. Home office staff are generally very knowledgeable. FA's are friendly and what to help you succeed.

      Cons

      Field-based training is very spotty and poor. What is learned in a classroom doesn't necessarily correlate to the real world. Insurance platform is very cumbersome and it takes forever to get a life insurance policy issued. DOL ruling is having a major impact on Edward Jones business and they way commissions will be paid as the firm moves away from retirement accounts that are transaction-based to fee based. As a result, going forward, I don't think Advisors will earn what they made in the past. The first 17 week sales quota is very hard to make and if you don't make it your are gone. All of the Advisors I met, who have found success at the firm, were all given accounts to take over and manage. Without this help it is extremely hard to succeed here.

      EJ gives you all of the tools you need to succeed, regardless of what role you're in. The best training in the industry, good benefits, as much responsibility as you want.

      Cons

      The industry overall can be stressful.
