Pros

The job security is unmatched. Unlike anything else in this industry. Most companies are simply management companies and the ownership group can sell or kick them out at any moment. NOT Edward Rose and Sons. They have not sold a property in 40 years, so feel confident in your role here. Your recommendations are valued and utilized. There are opportunities to speak with the corporate level department managers and they really listen. Competitive hourly rate and nice health care package. They invest in their people. Be that the ample training, continued education, in-house certifications, opportunity for advancement, etc.

Cons

Lackluster 401k match and below average bonus structurer. All hiring goes through corporate, so it takes quite a long time to set up interviews and hire. All marketing material (internal and external) goes through corporate approval. This definitely slows the launch of initiatives and campaigns. I understand them trying to control liability, but even the largest PM company in the world doesn't do this.

Okay pay. Security. Some good people in this company.

Cons

Half the employees are expected to all the work. They hold meetings to discuss change and improvements, yet take none of the advice. Upper management have gotten there through threatening to quit. Some of the leaders either don't care because they are riding out their time to retire, or have huge egos and are only able to care about something if it serves them specifically. But it's a job. Pay is almost acceptable. Wouldn't put in the effort or hold your breath of looking for a career here. One guy I worked with had been there 30 years and we made the same amount of money. He was one of their best employees.
