Thank you for your feedback as it is only through frank and honest communication that we can improve as a company. We are sorry to see that you feel there are not any pros to working at our company unless you are caucasion. We employ a number of employees from many different races and ethnic backgrounds, and we pride ourselves on providing opportunities for strong performers to advance from within the company. We have many employees who have moved up through the ranks of the company based on their performance, and we do have several African American Managers, Assistant Managers, and Supervisors throughout the Edward Rose Enterprise. We also are in the process of reviewing our compensation package and hope to implement some changes in the near future. I do believe, however, that you just received a bonus in December, so I am curious as to why you would state that we don't give bonuses. If you have any specific issues that you would like to address, we invite you to speak with your Regional Manager, the General Property Manager, or someone in the HR Department. Thank you.

Pros

The pros are limited and far and few in-between. You have healthcare options, though poor and lack a competitive edge. A weeks pay at christmas is about the only nice thing that is provided.

Cons

Where to start.. poor management. They need training. Some are incredibly questionable as far as how they even got the job to start. Many employees were tasked with making positive reviews on several sites to make the company look good also. My supervisor never graduate High School, can't read and can barely write his own name.. should there not be requirements to being left in charge? The chain of command is a joke. Not a single one holds any respect from the employees. Trying to get a straight answer is impossible, hearing "it is what it is" from several managers. Anyone qualified for a job to move up will never see advancement. Several employees have bachelors or even masters degrees and stick on a low level flipping questionable units that shouldn't even be rented out due to a poor foundation that is about to cave in on the floors below. Poor branding. Color schemes and the sort, not to mention the flyers that go out that are said to come from corporate look terrible. They need a real designer to make the company look good, and so far it needs help. A lot of help. The management team needs to learn how to either stay off social media at work or how to properly utilize it with the proper language. Getting sassy while making snarky remarks with a resident online is not professional and bad for a brand. Lack of consistency in disciplinary action that leads to the worst employees still holding onto their jobs. Some on call maintenance employees two not respond to calls and yet still hold there jobs after several residents go ignored. Smoking pot on the job and also under the influence of other drugs is common, but management seems to look the other way. We often ask, "where do you find these people?, with the typical response of "Our Craigslist ads." Tools that would be needed for work are rarely provided, and are of the lowest quality, breaking after a few uses. You are also restricted to using your own vehicle on a regular basis with no perks to resupply gas, not to mention that if anything happens to your car on the clock and on the property, you are on your own to cover the expenses. My list goes on. So much more could be said about this company and also the property that I work at. Updates to follow.

Thank you for taking the time to offer your suggestions on how to better our organization. We readily admit that we sought employee contributions to the various ratings sites, but we are interested in obtaining all types of feedback, both positive and negative. We acknowledge that there is always room for improvement, but through honest and thoughtful input we can become aware of areas of concern and find effective means to address them. We certainly do not condone the mistreatment of any employee by a management or non-management level person, and we encourage anyone who feels they have been mistreated to report it. As an employee with over three years of experience, I am sure you have experienced some pretty significant positive strides in our operations over that time, and we continue to strive to enhance the employment experience for our staff in areas such as technology, business practices, employee development, benefits and growth opportunities. We take great pride in the vast number of people who have been able to advance their careers within our organization. We welcome the opportunity to have you reach out directly to anyone at the site or corporate level to share your specific concerns and contribute toward the betterment of the organization. Thank you,

Pros

You learn a lot about customer service because you will meet people from many different cultures and situations.

Cons

You only learn a lot about customer service because managers are lazy and afraid to help angry residents so you have to be the middle man. Hard work does not pay off at this company and positive reinforcement is nonexistent. This company has an extremely high turnover rate because employees are made to feel they have no value. This is a bad company to work for.

First, we wanted to thank you for sharing your personal and professional experience that you had while working at one of our apartment communities. We were happy to hear that you learned a lot about customer service while working here. However, we also recognize that management has not lived up to your expectations. This is unfortunate as we do believe that every person is valuable to making Edward Rose & Sons a great place to work. We appreciate your feedback, and as we continue to grow and evolve as a company, we will also continue to try new ways to improve both our customer and our employee relationships.
